Your Lead Angler

After getting a Master of Arts in Teaching, I taught in high school and then college. Finding that health education was absent from classrooms led me to earn a Ph.D. and join a research institute that devised and evaluated programs for health promotion. My colleagues documented the results of these efforts with statistics generated from questionnaires. My job was to assess how they actually affected people using participant-observer methods developed by medical anthropologists. For 20 years I conducted field research on health problems handled with both conventional and alternative/complementary medicine.

In the world of computer training, I have combined my expertise as an educator with my knowledge of health care to specialize in Web-based health education. Now residing in Tucson, Arizona, I teach people how to pursue educational projects using online resources, and I conduct in-depth research for others on a commission basis. Details about my professional background and my approach to research can be found on line at http://www.wendellcenter.com/healthpro.
